It's too hot :(

Our house is cool. I can't imagine what the loft temperature is like though especially with the solar panels on top!

Even with solar panels covering my roof and the sun facing them from about 9 am until sunset, I peaked at 40°C in the attic. While running a portable air con is inefficient, at least I get to run it for free as long as the sun is out.

Takes days for my house to cool down, so that temperature will probably increase throughout the week.

Just peaked at 31°C in my garden in the shade, and it’s hotter tomorrow

I'd have a migraine by the 18th if that were me. Mad man. Are you not burnt af?

On 18 I thought I was about to pass out. Very silly on my part.

My face and head is a little pink, but I've always been quite fortunate that I go from pink to brown quite quickly. Plus I had sun cream on, which probably helped.

I'm an ex ginger, and now bald. That would have probably killed me. :p

Its just straight up ******* uncomfortable. I've got a tower fan directed straight at me and its just blowing 30 deg air at me. The Sun just wants to **** off and give me a break! Last 2-3 days have been torture. I drive for a living and the the cab, even with "aircon" on and a fan blowing in my face is just sweltering in the mid/late afternoon. I get a day off and just trying to keep out of the worst of it and its just unrelenting.
Realistically this weather would be fine if it were consistent. I could acclimatise like I have done in much hotter conditions in the past (Afghanistan, Bahrain). However in these short heatwaves I just find myself getting angry and frustrated, unable to enjoy it.

Ah I love this weather so much.
Sure, tomorrow won't be fun it's 26c in my home office at the moment. But it's so so worth it.

I'll be sleeping in 26c tonight but I don't mind it too much

Are you sure you're not related to those lizards that swim? Considering you love this weather and the water:)

Well this bank holiday scorcher has made everyone go mad. Two lads supping a can of Stella shouting over a girl they both like. Although one of them might be bi because she stuck a finger up censored and now he’s questioning himself. He got beat up in hotel rooms by groups of lads.

All that on my walking the dog.

This is SO interesting to read!! thanks for sharing this, its a long term dream of mine to do what you have done, were you able to keep your work/career? what made you move - just the appeal of being further out of society? (understandable!)
I grew up in edinburgh and there were no midges there at all.

We had a holiday cottage in the highlands near Sky area and whilst absolutely beautiful, the midges in the summer were appalling.

We used to sail around Iona and mull etc and the midges on the islands were again, horrible but being on the boat meant we could get away from them.

I'm a total wuss though but you certainly get much more for your money up there and if edinburgh wasn't as cold, I'd definitely live there again.
