It blows cold air. It's like new. Was barely used. I didn't mean inherited as in 20 years old and worn out.

The first 5 minutes or so of getting out the shower are lovely... until those 5 mins or so are overJust had a cold shower or bursts lovely then come out of shower roasters within 10 mins
I'm so looking forward to the temps dropping from Wednesday.
So 29.2oC in the bedroom at the moment, but only 23.2oC downstairs. Which is why I have a futon down there for days like this. But the weird bit about the bedroom temperature is that it was only about 27oC up until arounf 17:00, then suddenly shot up. And there's no sun in the widows after about 13:30. Guessing the loft godd properly heated and heat conducted down through the ceiling. Lots of insulation though, so only a theory.
Wind and rain is the worst. Almost every hobby is miserable in that. Sure you can do stuff. But it's not fun.
How many did you need to buy for one house? Are you happy with it?I'd honestly just get a proper split aircon system installed rather than mess about with portables...

28c in my living roomGot home to watch the f1 and had to turn the plasma TV on... So the living room is now 25C!
Cant even open a window as its 25C outside and no wind!
Not looking forward to work in the morning im an industrial door engineer not much chance escaping the sun on a building site

Yeah that's worse than me.
I can handle working in my office up to about 28c..after that I start to really struggle.
Tomorrow might be intense as the heat is building day on day. The bricks on the west side of the house are so hot now.

Our crappy 1930’s semi just seems to soak up heat, which is handy in the winter, but hellish during the summer. It doesn’t help that our main bedroom where me and my wife sleep’s south facing, with a ******* big bay window. I’ve had the windows and the blinds on the front of the house shut all day, and it’s still 27° in there. Just hope it drops tonight, the outside temperature’s just starting to drop below that now, so once the internal temp exceeds the outside I’ll open the windows and start a fan.
I’m guessing with the age of the property, it’s just all solid brick construction, without a cavity meaning that the brick just soaks up the sun all day, and then radiates it back into the house overnight.
We have a boarded out loft with stairs going up into from the landing. Just at the top of those stairs there’s a Velux window, so I’m contemplating whether somehow adding a temporary extractor fan to that window would help.

I've got one in each room, 5 in total (4 bedrooms and one living area) but only because I let the place out over summer so I kinda have to.
A normal person could get way with one or two easily, combined with ceiling fans to move air around the house, but that's southern Spanish summer that can easily get over 40c the last few years.. you wouldn't need nerarly that much cooling power in the UK, not even close.
They are really good, they can cool a room down from roasting to too cold in probably 5 mins...if you're not carefull and fall asleep with them turned up to high you'll wake up in the night freezing cold... so much like a central heating thermostat, it's better to set the target temp to say 22c or whatever rather than cranking it or youll be using tonnes of electricity and end up too cold.
