iTunes 10.4 - Now 64-Bit!

So is 64 bit code always faster than 32 bit code?

Or are the only speed gains due to the fact that the code has access to more than 2gb of RAM?

Beware those of you on SL who are downloading this and about to upgrade to Lion. After you've installed Lion, you'll have to download iTunes all over again as Lion doesn't ship with 10.4, and the version it does ship with can't read the music library created by 10.4 on SL. Not a biggy, but worth mentioning :)

Pretty much, either AMD X2/first gen X3 or Core2 based laptop in comparison to this macbook, even re-installed the OS a couple of times.
It was just when scrolling through the library or opening higher bitrate songs that I noticed it most. I've noticed a good improvement after the update. :)

Downloaded the update for Windows last night (presumably to 64-bit) but I'm yet to restart the PC. -_-

Main problem I have with iTunes is the App List for iPhone and iPad is always really slow to navigate, trying to scroll up and down to find an App for example, very frustrating. Everything else kind of works ok but I only use it for syncing my devices and downloading podcasts and Apps.
