About time as well. I hate DRM.

I've just re-downloaded all my purchased songs in iTunes plus now. Apple certainly have the right idea. I doubt I'll be buying another CD again. :D

There's tons of well know sites doing drm-free songs with CD quality encoding and cheaper.

Yeah I love my Apple gear a lot, but Apple are not leading the way forward, Amazon, and numerous smaller sites have been doing this for a long time.

For once, i'd say the fanboy-like comment from AJUK is actually true!

It was just the ******* record companies holding out on Apple to try and even things out, but it didn't do anything.

Say bye-bye to a nice chunk of money!

Not for once, I am always correct. ;)

I was commenting on fanboys, not necessarily you :p

Well I'm no fan-boy, but most of my music has been purchased by the old iTunes system so I've very pleased with this news. :)

Seems to have disappeared for now ?

/edit seems to be working just a bit slow

Mr. DRM gets the last laugh when you pay again for something you already own. Paying to 'upgrade' tracks is a sorry state of affairs.

It sure does

I would have thought the upgrade was free considering the DRM stuff is the same price as the non DRM stuff was

This upgrade stuff is a bit of a joke - you have to upgrade everything that's now available in Itunes plus. So stuff I don't listen to now I have to pay for even if only want to upgrade half my collection.

Also, strangely, Itunes has identified some tracks that I didn't even buy in the first place (was ripped from a CD) as been available to upgrade. So effectively if I upgrade, I pay 20p for a track 'upgrade' I didn't even get from Itunes originally.

Gee, thanks Apple!
