Hey, is it possible to create sub-genres in iTunes? For example: I listen to a lot of hardcore and in hardcore there's three main sub-genres which are, deathcore, grindcore and metalcore. I want them all to have separate genres, as well as being in one big genre, does that make sense at all? If so how do I do it?

not as such - but if you just set the subgenres as the genre field then you could create a "hardcore" playlist and just add all the music from all 3 to that.

Just select an album, say Napalm Death (you should have one of their albums surely!) and then highlight all the tracks in the album, right click, choose Get Info, then in the info tab, click on the name of the type of genre (which it defaulted to) and type your own one in. It should save it for future use on any albums for you. :)

I don't think you can literally have proper sub-genre-ing though. Unless you search using just the word "core" or whatever, which would come up with all the genre's you listed above.

Hope that helps, it's late, i'm not on 100%
