my wife has hundreds of itunes songs but her ipod has broken, does she need an ipod to use itunes songs or will any mp3 player use them

i have no idea how it allw orks so any help would be really good

nope, i'm afraid they're copy protected and will only work in itunes or on ipods. apparently the only way round it is to use itunes to burn the files to cd. then you can rip the cd back to whatever file format you like.

itunes have recently started selling premium drm-free files but it's unlikely the collection is made of those- otherwise you'd know about it already.

I'm afraid you will probably have to get a new iPod, i'm pretty sure that songs on iTunes will only work on iPods as the songs are copy protected.

marc2003 i heard this too, im gonna try doing it on a dvd and burning them all back as i am sick of ipods eating the mp3 market and there so overpriced imo

i think it only works with audio cds. :(

unless there such things as audio dvds? basically just creating data disks won't work.....
