ITV set to reboot Bullseye

As long as they keep with the same low standard of prizes, I'd watch it just to see the winner's fake smiles.

I never seen it myself, but apparently one early episode had a VCR with a wired in remote control. Never actually seen one in real life but they do exist.

WTF? You are talking like a wired remote VCR was around the same time as the invention of the wheel or fire!!

We used to have a wired remote VCR - thanks for making me feel ancient

I remember they rebooted it with Dave Spikey hosting (think it lasted a year and that was it), for some reason anytime he said 'darts' it sounded like 'duts'.

Couldn't beat Jim Bowen as host, some of the stuff he came off with (as seen above) people would be outraged over today.

I remember when Bowen used to do a little talk before he came down the stairs as the show was starting where he read out 'letters from the audience', one time it was about how the star prize worked which they sort of sidestepped, they never did explain how 2 people winning a car, a caravan or a speedboat or a jet ski was meant to work, supposedly there was a cash alternative but what if one wanted the car or whatever and the other didn't? Not as if they would have 2 of each star prize or would fork out a car to whoever wanted the car and the cash alternative to the playing partner.

Would rather have a speedboat

Christ, when I was at uni (94-97) I had an inherited TV that you changed channel by turning a dial to tune it like a radio, never mind remote controls.

@wesimmo - I remember you had to tune in a TV in the 80s and 90s but they generally did have 8 buttons that you could tune in. 1-4 were the 4 TV channels, 5 was VHS. I never had Sky TV, but those who did have it typically tuned it on button no.6. One of the remaining buttons would have been a games console or a home computer e.g. a Speccy or Amstrad.

I've never come across wired remote for a TV, although I did have a wired remote controlled car which was the cheaper option than radio controlled cars.
