ITX upgrade - critique my build

Currently I'm running an mATXbuild from 6-7 years ago - 7700K/Asus Z270G/1080ti and an AIO and it's time to pass this to my son and build a new one for myself.

To be honest I play far less games than I used to and no longer have the time to tinker with overclocking much so don't need a top level board any more, but the few games I do play need to be 1440p and I want to leave myself open to "treating" myself to a decent card in the future. I have a "spare" 1080ti which I'm going to use until funds allow, at which time I'll probably be open to CPU upgrade if needed. I think this CPU will be ok up until a 4070 though?

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,057.90 (includes delivery: £0.00)

Comments please?

I'm sort of second guessing myself now you've reminded me of chipset fans - I'd rather not have chipset fans at all and went AMD as I want to keep overall TDP/Heat low too to give lots of headroom to air cool (current system is AIO and I want something a little more maintenance free), but there are very limited options for AM5 ITX.

The main thing when deciding on a board is to read reviews to ensure there isn't a hidden tiny fan and I would suggest looking at Gigabyte's offerings. I'd be surprised if their AM5 ITX boards weren't over-engineered in the VRM department although it could happen, just look at Asus, one would expect them to over-engineer to prevent the use of VRM fans especially with their supposedly top of the range boards but evidently they dropped the ball a long time ago.
Yeh, the Gigabyte boards seemingly have their own issues too though. Strange Asus didn't want to send you a fan - there's literally a video on YT where the guy emailed asking for and got sent one.

To be honest, I'm thinking maybe just spend the extra and get the ASRock offering with a 7600X - I can't see fans anywhere on their design except the M.2, which I can just leave off or replace with a heatsink instead. It's not going to be overclocked, I just want something trouble free for the next 5-7 years with a CPU upgrade path should I need it.

Been reading some poor comments for the Corsair SFX PSU and given the lack of high power SFX options with OCUK have ordered up an Asus ROG Loki 1000w instead

Once everything is ordered I'll post the final kitlist and once built I'll either post here or on a build log thread.

Yes, a 280mm AIO does fit in the Dan C4, but I went for simplicity - my current system is AIO and the extra money and periodic top-up hassles are not worth it for the gain imo.

I went with the Loki on the basis that the SF750 is no longer available and its replacement is getting panned by almost everyone. I could have saved £40 with the 850w version, but went for future proofing with "moar PSU" :D

Yeah that was my thinking, I've already put the GPU in the older pc to test. I'll probably bang it together tonight, still waiting on the SF750, but I've got pretty much a brand new RM850x in the older pc. I'll give Overclockers a ring, was hoping someone there that might have see this post.
Post here if you find out anything please

Just given them a ring and they haven't got an ETA on them. Apparently the Product manager is in talks to get more stock. They said it's likely to be multiple week :(
WTF - literally last week they said they'd be in this week. Ok, time to cancel order.

Going to see if the C4 have actually been received and sent out, or if they're still awaiting delivery to OCUK. If they've sent them out already and somehow I didn;t get one I'll try something else. Life's too short to let OCUK hold on to my £200 for months more.

Fingers crossed then. My SFX PSU arrived today, I built the rest of the parts in a full sized case just to test everything was working, which it was :) Just need the Case now!
Yeh. Well, looking on the SFF forums, there's not going to be any more until a v2 comes out - it's now no longer listed on OCUK website.

OCUK had 380, which they've already despatched to buyers and apparently CaseKing are sending what they have left to OCUK, so you just have to hope that yours is in that batch.
