I'v got the power?

Hi there, first post here and its a question (i know )

Just bought a XFX ATI Radeon HD 4870 from the site and i'm a tad unsure as to if my PSU is gonna take it:

Conroe Duo 2.6
4gig
Couple of hard drives

PSU:
Tagan TG580w - So 580watt

Most folks have been saying that it should be fine (got a nvidia 7950GT in there at the moment) but just wanted to get your opinions on it.

I tend to get a new PC ever 5 years and I got this one in 06, its stating to flake on on newer games so I'm hoping this card will tide me over for a couple of years.

Whats the +12v Amp spec on the PSU and does it equal or better the power required by the GFX card?

I would say its fine though tbh! Its not a cheapy QTec or anything liek that!

can't seem to find any power info on the card, google fu is failing. Its a pretty common one though i'v heard?

your PSU is enough for this card. Tagan is decent brand

Good to hear, Last time i did a serious upgrade on a PC it was AGP and simple! All this power supply, mobo bottle necks and christ knows what else has put me in a bit of a spin.

When it comes on monday hopefully nothing will blow up.

haha both, i am portly and have strange small hands. I was genetically bred for WASD you see.
