Ages ago when I set WEP up I put a password in so my daughter could access the net using her laptop, now my wife wants to connect hers and it's asking her for the password and I just can't remember it. I think I wrote it in the instruction book but can't find that either! Do you know a simple way around this?
Cheers

They'll be whatever you set them to, or what the defaults are.

If you stated what router you were using, someone might know what the defaults were - or you should be able to find a manual courtesy of Google.

cheers for the help guys I've sorted it now.
Did the IP thingy and had to put admin in!
Didn't have to change the password as it was already there when I logged in!

Depending on how vunerable to attack you feel you might want to change the default password on the device. I'm guessing your not too concerned though as your using WEP which is only classed as weak security. Weak meaning it will put a passer-by of connecting and more secure than having your access point open or MAC-Address filtered.

write *** password underneath the router, but dont write *** username, i always disable my default admin account and replace it with another name.
