I've found something weird on Google Earth

Yes DRZ, I am. Hope you all enjoy browsing it. I thought followers of this thread would be interested. I note that a couple of contributors had already spotted my picking up the story and "running with it"!

I dislike the style it is written in to be quite honest - I much prefer the writings of Mr Fox et al over at Sub Brit but your site is useful for quick links to show someone something in a light-hearted way.

I find it a little strange that you signed up here just to post in this thread though! Its hardly a "frenzy" as you put it, indeed there have been far more "hysterical" threads in the past on various forums around the net. What drew you to here in particular? Lots of referrals from this thread?

Not an interrogation, just curious :)

I was alerted to the story from referrals to my website early on in the thread. I decided to do a treatment of the subject, using my usual light-hearted style which seems to have been also followed in this forum.

Certainly no offense intended!

I thought thread contributors and outside readers would be interested in the "final reveal". I do hope the OP hasn't been arrested after all this!

No need to apologise - If anything perhaps my post could be construed as rude - certainly not how it was intended :) Threads in this particular part of the forum are rarely serious, hence the light-heartedness!

It is always interesting to find out exactly what a site has been used for just to lay those little niggles to rest - I have investigated a few sites near me where I have clear photographic evidence of the existance of a site, only for it to not be on ANY records whatsoever. Irritating when that happens!

I too hope the OP hasnt been arrested - I suspect he hasnt but is merely playing a bit of a joke on us ;)
 
I think he was having us on. From the minute he made the original post with the picture, he was setting us all up.

Of course, if he isnt having us all on, he may actually have found some alien experimentation site. If he squeals, he and everybody he ever knew would be taken off the planet and be used to provide entertainment on another planet.

It was good thread none the less.

How cool, that's about 2mins down the road from my house, thought Worthy was the only local on here...

Never even knew it was there though..

Edit: Bloody hell, just realised what road its on, must have driven past that so many times...

I too have driven past that countless times! There is all sorts of cool stuff everywhere!

Remember when that "BT Exchange" under Manchester caught fire? Well, only *part* of it is a BT exchange, located in 1.4km of tunnels under Manchester/Salford.

I was all set to go down there and play pool on the original 1950s pool tables in there the week before it caught fire and got secured up properly :(
 
WOW that was a waste of 7 pages of forum!!!

PAC2006 is having a laugh, cant comment for legal reasons my backside, what rubbish. One of 2 things, either he hasnt been, or has been and couldnt get in!

As for all the scare stories of probings, and the "feds", please, the police, MP and military are not the scariest people in the world. If its active you wont be able to get in, if by chance you do youll be removed, questioned and told not to do it again, none of this clandestine "legal reasons i canna say" bull.

People go in and out of dis-used (and active) milli installations all the time, and civillian ones too without problems. Its hardly rocket science and unless you really are a terrorist you dont have anything to worry about by being nosey.

Or the other people I have been with that have had the same thing happen to them?

Or do you think being quizzed by armed police with dogs isnt in the slightest bit un-nerving?

Looks really cool but is actually....






Orica's Glazebury Depot. Used to belong to ICI and is a distribution facility for explosives used in quarrying. Is also mentioned on this webpage too, under 'Google Earth Causes Secret Bases frenzy!' :D






At least, thats what the men in the black cars told me to say ;)

There was a bloke hanging from a nearby tree by his testicles, but I'm not sure if thats related.
