I've had 2 6500fd's in the last 2 weeks now. First one started getting really over exposed with bandy lines all over the place and the other one started producing pictures with a weird circle on them (lens was clean).

I've decided that whilst the 6500fd was a great camera to use, I can't trust it enough to use long term.

So now I need another bridge camera in the £150-£230 price range. Basically something that's the best bang for buck.

So far I've got it down to these 2, but I'm open to any suggestions so long as it's near enough my price range.

Kodak EasyShare P880 - £212 - Just noticed the poor zoom so I'm a bit put off.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 - £156.86 - Great zoom and great price so I'm really tempted tbh. I'm just a bit funny on using the joystick to focus.

Tbh Fuji is no longer an option.

So what do you guys reckon? Any other suggestions?

Canon S3-IS,

Fantastic camera, good IS, excellant movie mode (If that interests you?)

can be had for £219 new.

Yeah I googled that but it seems crap tbh. I'd much rather have a native solution. I'm having trouble finding something on par with the 6500fd for the money.

I know I said I wouldn't go for fuji but I'm thinking about trying the 9600

just the camera i've been looking at

if you decide to get one let us know how you get on. I'm strapped for cash atm and window shopping for later in the year ;)

that circle looks like dust on the ccd to me, not sure how that can be so on a bridge camera though. but then again i had a bridge camera (an olympus c740) that had a hair in the viewfinder compartment

To be honest the 9600 will be a very good camera as its quite similar to the 6500fd (same lens) it just has more features and a higher mp. I'm just worried that it'll suffer form the same probs I've already had.
