And they are Arsenal.

If they don't win the league this year it will be a tragedy. Some of their football was sublime, to the point where I was applauding them instead of Liverpool. First to every tackle and loose ball, always a spare man. Hunger and desire to win. Arsenal deserve it this year.

A 1-1 draw with the best footballing side in the league is more than Liverpool fans could have hoped for given our recent run of results. But the football that Arsenal played just made a mockery of anything I have seen at Anfield in the last few years.

If Chelsea or the Mancs win it this year it will be a travesty. Arsenal played some boss footy and deserve the league.

Are you kidding? So they deserve off the back of a quarter of a season? Why are so many people on here so fast to right off their own teams. The negativity all the time. Manu fans on here had all but given up after 4 games.

Now the liverpool fans proclaiming arsenal as the rightfull winners. WTF.

IF chelsea or Manu win it this year it will be because they deserve it not some travesty. ANY team that wins after putting together a 38 game season deserves it.

So many people seem to be forgetting its 38 games for a season.

How can you say arsenal deserve it more, they are only a game in hand ahead of ManU and manu had their worst start for years.

They're on form and we're not. They've also got far fewer injuries to key personal. It'll be interesting to see how they cope without players like Toure, Fabregas and Van Persie for any length of time. Chelsea struggled when they had their key players out just as Man United did and just like we're doing. They did look fantastic today but we're far better than we showed and with a fully fit first team a match for anyone.

Arsenal are doing what Arsenal always do, and the same tactics that beat them in previous seasons will beat them again now, this current team isnt a patch on previous squads, they have one outstanding player in Fabergas, and the rest are not even close to the quality of players like Pires, ljunberg, vieira, Henry and Bergkamp.

Liverpool proved it today, Liverpool are a poor side that cannot compete on any level with the footballing ability of Arsenal, but the managed to shut them out for almost the whole game, it was only Carragers increasingly dodgy defending that let Arsenal back into it.

if arsenal are consistant and stay injury free then they should be up there at the end of the season.

They played some awsome football in the champions league the other week

Dodgy defending that earned him the MoM award

Because I have watched football at Anfield for over 20 years. Arsenal play some brilliant football and if they continue to do so they will win the league.

Man U play some lovely stuff but I have never seen a side come to Anfield and play like they were the home side as Arsenal did today. Closest to them was Valencia in the 2002 champions league game.

Man U and Chelsea have never ever come to Anfield and played like it was their ground. Ever.

precisely! if a codger like carragher can largely shut them out then what hope do they have when they come up against a quality back line? ;) (that was a joke please no one take offence).

also youstole i think you have to look at yourselves as to why Arsenal bossed the game today, I am happy to put money on it with you that they won't be able to go to United or Chelsea and control the game like they did today. In fact i'll wager that when United go to the Emirates next sunday we'll give them a much harder time than they had today.

It's not as if Utd Or Chelsea didn't put on an exhibition over the weekend either is it?

They did play well at times, but im not convinced, Liverpool are out of form with what now appears to be an injury crisis (if it wasnt before the game) and for my money we were the ones that looked like we should have won.

No doubt i admire Arsenals style of play, but they should have buried us.

Oh well I apologise I didnt realise to be champions you had to play the best at anfield for one game of the season :p

May as well end the season now to keep our players fresh for the Euro's :D

chelsea were pretty impressive when they won 4-1 at anfield in oct 05

No they weren't! They beat a side with Djimi Traore in it. They scored 4 breakaway goals and plodded along for the rest of the game. They didn't boss the game at all.

They didn't look that impressive come the semi-final of the champions league in May '05. Or May '07 for that matter.
