I've lost all the data off my HDD

Can anyone please help me out by telling me of some software I can download that can help me to get back some of the files I lost. I've heard of software that can do this before but I've never actually used it myself.

I've totally lost everything on my HDD and was wanting to get back some pictures/mp3s/word docs etc.

Some have reported good results with GetDataBack. See: http://www.runtime.org/downloads.htm

It isn't free, although there's a free trial.

However if you're really in a pinch I suppose you won't mind spending some money. You really need another hard drive as well IMO to get up and running again (you should not do *anything* with your dodgy drive that might overwrite/affect data recovery operations.)

What exactly happened? Is this a hardware or software disaster? (ie did the drive crash or did you have some kind of format/delete disaster?)

Getdataback is a good program.

I had to use it the other day after I stupidly deleted an important file. Luckly getdataback got the file back for me.

Before you buy anything have a look Here in the "Recovery Software" section if you wish.

I have used GetDataBack and it certainly is a good program if you do need to buy.

I`ve tried a bunch of these progs,majority being useless but my vote goes to O & O disk recovery.Got music files back critical to a tune i`d written even after 2 formats and installs of xp with no corruption of the files themselves.It also has a few great features-ignore files that are already there and organises all recovered files into folders with their extension .wav,.txt etc.
Getdataback couldn`t recover the files i needed and you have to trawl through loads of non-descrypt folders.
