i've lost my router - finding its IP?

guys - you can also ping the broadcast address of a subnet and all devices should respond - then run the command arp -a and check out the list of addresses available

Other way of doing it is to install something like wireshark ( a sniffer ) - run it, set it to promiscuous mode and turn the router off then on. You should capture its arp broadcasts as it boots up

It wouldn't take that long to search manually, lord knows i've done it more than once finding lost printers on remote sites at work lol
 
this is going to sound arsey, because it is i suppose - but if you're going to post, at least have the courtsey to read the whole thread.

Well I apologise. I was in a rush as I was going out and only skimmed it. You in turn could have just said nothing?
