Just wondering about the GPU fan though. Is it wise to go passive on that? What if you forget to switch it on? If this were mine I'd be a lot happier if I had some sort of fail safe circuit going on, maybe a comparator working off temperature or PWM frequency to switch it on when it's needed.

That would be fantastic the same idea had crossed my mind of monitoring the pwm signals. The biggest risk though will always be if the water isn't being pumped either because I forgot to switch it on or a hardware failure. So long as the water's going around even at full load with just the passive cooling it takes hours to reach high 80's. I have alarms set if things start getting toasty, I don't use it for anything were I leave it unattended working on something, when ever it's under load it's because I'm on bf3 :D All that said tho I'd have to agree it would be nice to have an automated fail safe, doubt I'll get around to it tho tbh :rolleyes:
