Pilots are commissioned officers, op is non-commissioned, Raf already has a typhoon squadron in the RAF if I'm not mistaken,

lol, havent used one yet, but one lad did, something about going to iraq in 3 days ? lol he was hammered the idiot.

Tonight is more or less my first night alone in my room without having 20lads in the same block, i actually feel quite down cos i miss them, im suprised.

One thing that will stay with me forever is when one of the lads i always had banter with etc said "Worthy if you were shot in the middle of the road i wouldnt have second thoughts in dragging out of there"

Choked me up abit!
 
This really sparks an interest in a career in the RAF for me, would be nice to something other than sit behind a office all the time in a full time job :)

Serious congratulations mate. I remember mine as if it was only yesterday, it was actually 16 years ago now :eek: A day that will always stay with you though for sure.

CAS was my Station commander at Bruggen, although he was a lowly GC then :p Nice enough chap as I remember, done well for himself!

Enjoy Cosford, I spent my last 4 years there as permanant staff. Good location with some nice pubs near by in Shifnal. Keep your head down & don't slack off just yet ;) Trade training is pretty intense & you do not want to **** it up at this stage, also remember the real RAF does not start until you are qualified & out of the ******* trg stages. Then let the fun begin!

Most of all enjoy the rest of your career, you will make some great friends, have some fantastic ;) experiences & hopefully see some of the nicer parts of the world.

Its been an amazing 9 weeks, i went through some crazy emotions, i was so close to quitting at the end, tried so hard and it paid off, i won an award for dedication and enthusiasm!

There were recruits there that have done sandhurst, and others that had done navy officer training.

They said it was physically a lot harder, but no where near as mentally challanging as what we did.

Four Tiffy squadrons now....17sqn (reserve, the operational evaluation unit), 29qn (the training unit, or operational conversion unit to be proper), 3sqn (first air defence unit) and 11sqn (first multi-role Typhoon unit, to deploy in Afghanistan in 2008 apparently). 6 Squadron will form on the Typhoon early in 2008 as well....

You're still classed as AC until completing trade training right?
