Well after thinking long & hard for weeks, i've decided to risk it and Preorder one for £999:eek:

1k is a lot for a fix lens camera, but tbh the more i see it the more i want it :D

Im going to let the NX10 kit go which is currently on the bay to recoupe some cash, so hopefully if that sells i'll only be paying around £460 for the X100.

Really looking forward to March sometime when it released, & hopefully if it doesn't get delayed.

Anybody else thinking of buying one or already got one on order?

It's a massive gamble, but one im willing to risk on a camera like this.

If the X100 dissapoints, then i'll just return it with the 14 day money back.
so no loss really.

But im hoping Fuji really pull the boat out on this camera, regarding image quality & well controlled noise, with it's EXR CMOS Sensor.

I'd like one as a day to day compact as carrying my SLR everywhere is getting boring now but I want to handle one first, I'd also expect prices to fall at least a little with time....

I would jump at it... for maybe 20% to 1/3 of the price ;)

Seriously though, how much do these cost to make?

I think it's not out of the ball park, costs must be a good bit more than the Sony NEX5 kit (similar sensor, better lens, fancy processor, optical viewfinder, higher quality materials and less economies of scale...

I imagine (or realistically hope) it'll drop to £850-900 within a few months of release...

Just off topic how was the NX10? Been thinking of getting one.

It's not a bad little camera, tbh i wish i didn't have to sell it as i like using it, moreso with the 30mm pancake lens.

My NX10 setup currently on the bay, under coolermaster53

if your thinking of getting one, go have a look it's a full setup inc 3 lenses and flash.

I have been very tempted to give up my entire nikon setup and switch to the x100. I used to work professionally but just don't have the time with my current business to do both, so i use my DSLR simply for personal stuff at the moment. Really need to get one in my hands, as what has failed with every other digital rangefinder released so far is the viewfinder. They have all been crap. The lens on the X100 seems super sharp at all apertures, and the noise even at 12800 seems good.

My old man looking forward to me getting this camera aswell, he said reminds him of his old Canon G-III 17 QL, which he bought back in 1973.

He even thinking of getting one himself :)

Does look like a potentially very good camera, if I had the money I would definitely consider picking one up.

Once the camera arrives hopefully within 3 weeks, I'll get some test shots both in Jpeg & RAW using a wide range of ISO setting, then give my verdict if it's a keeper or not.

One thing for sure when i know what day i'll be receiving it, i'l be booking a couple of days of work, so i can take it out for a proper test. :)
