**IVY BRIDGE IN STOCK & AVAILABLE NOW!!**

These gaming benchies show a nice difference between the 2500k and the 3570k.

Unless you run these at stock (ie don't overclock, which no one buying K processors will do), it isn't fair to compare them at different clock speeds. [email protected] and [email protected]. If anything, we already know the 2500k overclocks better and should have the higher clock speed in testing.

Even with that the differences are single digit.

Them benches are hardly worth shouting about, 1-3fps also it's most likely driver improvements since they last tested, unless they actually benched all them there cpu's on the same set of drivers which is highly unlikely.

yeh i agree, i still not seen fair benchmarks done in games... sigh

It's interesting how those benches linked above show hardly any gaming difference between 3570K and 3770K, yet in 3D Mark 11, quite a bit, particularly physics.

Performance:
i7 3770K - 7007
i5 3570K - 6791

Physics;
i7 3770K - 9869
i5 3570k - 7575

Don't forget that HT is in effect in 3D Mark 11, when in games HT is barely used.

Lol. Glad I bought the 3770k when I did it's gone up about £10 ^.^ had all my stuff dispatched today so happy me when it gets here :D

Yeah I got in there in the nick of time too.... Gibbo mentioned the price rise yesterday so we have all been warned :D

Let us know if you get any gummy bears with your package... OcUK have been very busy today :) Fingers Crossed

LOL Other packages coming in from competitors as OcUK sold out and those ******** never pack in any freebies :(

All the best Ollie - good luck with your build

All my parts are from OCUk easier to RMA if needs be and no-one can blame the other guy if a part or two ****s up ^.^ plus Im loyal... and I do love Haribo :D I hope my stuff gets here about thursday... though currently I have no screwdriver :c

I'm looking to build a new box for a bit of FSX and more importantly running lots of VMs so would be looking 16GB RAM. Are these chips going to be any good for that sort of usage? Really what I'm asking is can you get good clocks with huge RAM?

it's a smaller process on completely different architecture as SB

Fixed that for you.

Tri-gate is a completely new process to mainstream CPUs, it's actually the reason why IB runs hot at the top end. If you understand the science behind the process it makes perfect sense why it doesn't deal with heat so well.

If IB was simply a process shrink then your statement would probably be true, but it isn't and neither is your statement.
