My iWork has really started playing up (Pages in particular)

Basically, without fail, I go file, save, then the program disappears and i get a "program shut down unexpectedly" error :(

This is on a shiny new mac and a pretty much fresh install...

anyone else had this? I just lost about 20 minutes work :(

god damn this is infuriating, uninstalled, reinstalled, still this:

PagesCrash.png

Happens whenever i try to save, output to PDF, or anything which preserves my work :(

Has anyone encountered this before? google isn't throwing anything up :(

( you know when there are are things that you have to get done but crap this this stops you!?!)

Managed to sort it (for now)... incase anyone else gets this after trying loads of stuff i found the solution was to delete the ~/Library/Caches folder ;)

Ok, so it started happening again... and i need to know why...

I have just spend an hour isolating where the problem is, and basically if it crashed on save or export, all i need to do is delete the Cache.db file within the com.apple.PubSubAgent folder which is in the ~/Library/Caches folder - then go back into Pages and it works...

i then watch the caches folder and as soon as this file is recreated, I can then no longer save or export once again...

took ages to find this out so if anyone could shed some light on what this file is, what creates it and how I could maybe fix this it'd be much appreciated - from what i can tell so far its part of mobileme but thats as much as i know...

as in its only a 2 month old mac, and i only install what i need which is CS4, iWork, Forklift, Textmate and a couple of smaller things...

by this i meant i'm not one to have loads of lesser known apps installed that could cause problems - bare minimum me :)

Did you format the machine when you had it, or did you just install the apps on top?

1. Is Mac OS X up-to-date? Even if it is and you used Software Update - download the Combo Update. Doing the combo update is the first place to go to fix something.

2. Has iWork '09 been updated to the latest via software update?

3. If both of those fail, remove all traces. This involves:

Opening up finder

Typing in "iwork" (then "pages" "keynote" and "numbers") into the spotlight search field

There is a little plus next to save, click it, then the left selection should be "System Files" and the right should be "include". If system files isn't there click other and select it from the check box.

Remove all traces of iWork! I can't tell you specifically what to get rid of but things like the programs, the package receipts etc. Don't blame me if you delete something important :p

Reinstall & update iWork
