Basically can the iWork single user package be discounted for students via the HE store directly from apple or from other places? I don't mind spending £72 on it but I'd rather ask first incase I could save a few quid!.

Yes it's discounted in the HE store IIRC but wait for Office 2011, it's very nice, iWork is not.

I would wait for office 2011. It should be out next month as far as I know. I currently use office on a mac and find it much much better than iwork.
Ive got office 2011 for mac via the techg service due to buying 2008 in august. Both programs have pros and cons, excel is better than numbers for instance but keynote destroys powerpoint etc.

I picked up a "Mac Box Set" family pack - 5 user, off amazon, for £90 in the last few days. I have 3 mac's in the household, so it was a no brainer really for us. Anyone in the family have mac's you can split the cost with?
