Can anyone give me a few lines to describe this 3d solution?

Iv got it installed and it seems to work fine ( i cant see properly without glasses)
Ill get some 3d glasses tomorrow to test it out. Just want to know what other people think. And i have a few questions...

Will i get a true 3d effect even if my monitors only 60hz?
Do i need special glasses and that iz3d monitor?

it depends which method you're using.. the IZ3D driver supports multiple methods (eg Anaglyph, 120hz Shutter, Polarization, Cross Eye etc).

Official IZ3D monitors use the polarization method, via the use of two different LCD screens at opposing polarizations one behind the other - regular polarization glasses work for this, such as the REAL-D ones from cinemas.

If you're talking about the shutter method, it's going to give you serious headaches at 60hz - if the glasses are even compatible with only 30hz each.

Which method are you currently using?

Then it doesn't matter what refresh rate your monitor is :)

Bear in mind that colours are completely messed up, and over an hour of gameplay can give you headaches. I played a fair bit of Burnout Paradise in Anaglyph mode, and it was quite painful after a while.

Also, after an extended session, you can't see colours correctly for a short while. Your brain needs to readjust, and the world looks very monochrome for a minute or two.

If you have an Nvidia card, the anaglyph method is already part of the driver set without having to use the IZ3D driver :)

Basicly the world will look like iv got high? im all up for legal drugged up.

Is it really as bad as you said? burnout paradise isnt one of the recommended games :P

IMO - This "3D Gaming" is a waste of money and resources.

If we were playing on cinema sized screens, MAYBE but as it is, it hardly seems worthwhile.

From my experience, you seem to lose too much clarity, plus you look a total dork with the glasses while gaming.

tbh i think the next true break through will be the virtual reality red dwarf style. it would own all this 3d junk

there already is apparently :) it was on MSN today IIRC, its a thick pair of glasses what you put on and it has a small monitor on the inside, it makes you hear and see whats being played. It was all hooked up to a small bag *(i do mean small) and in that bag was a laptop of some sort, which had a lot of connectors around your body to pick up your muscle movements. So when you walked ,it moved you around the environment being played. If you moved your arm in front of the large enclosed glasses a representation of your arm would appear in front of you with the exact movements.

This wasn't that long ago. It looked just like the red dwarf thing! (but not as good)

Just got a pair of glasses...

I was expecting better. HL2 aint loading for me so i tried BF2, i noticed that fire/smoke and dust look like there coming at you more but everything else seems quite dull. Im starting to feel abit dizzy at the moment :( i might invest in a 120hz monitor, 480gtx and the nivida 3d kit. I dont mind about the glasses.

i got some red/cyan glasses specifically for trying out iz3d and yeah headaches and dizziness aside, some games look pretty awesome in 3d even with screwed over colours most noticeably lfd, gta4 and mount and blade warband (3d eyefinity for m&b warband =awesome)

loads of crosstalk, poor shadowing and dodgy colours.

If you want 3d go with either the Zalman and Tridef setup, or the Nvidia 120Hz setup, don't form an opinion on hardware which isn't supposed to be the ambassador for 3d gaming.
