Anyone into this kinda stuff? Basically, I quite like listening to silly over-the-top japanese pop music...quite fast paced stuff, silly vocals, synths, soaring chorus'...a bit like the kind of stuff in anime....

As ridiculous as possible please....it's the only proper happy music I like listening to really because it's just so funny :p

Hopefully I'll get more than a couple of replies :p?

I like UVERworld if that helps!

Ayumi Hamasaki, Morning Musume, that kind of thing? If you've got an ok bb connection there's a jpop channel on the winamp streaming list, give that a look :)

Personally i like Mikuni Shimokawa and Yoko Ishida but they are probably nowhere near manic enough for what you want.

My-Pace Daiou by Manzo and Kujibiki Unbalance by Under 17 are both good tracks too, (there are several videos of performances of these on Youtube).

Morning Musume are quite good, as are The Indigo (but again they may not be manic enough for you).

The polysics..

And if you can get the my sherona cover, woot. Hehe, these guys reeeeealy take the roof off live.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I eat, sleep, and breath J-pop! :D

My favourites are HALCALI, Funky Monkey Babys, Tommy Heavenly6, Morning Musume, Ayumi Hamasaki, MOVE, YUI, Puffy AmiYumi and countless more. Shout me on MSN messenger if you want any more info/recommendations.

Hmm.

Ayu is good - inc. her trance stuff, Move, Every Little Thing, Yui, some Gackt, some L'arc en Ciel...but that's going more the way of jrock/j-numetal.

Checked out Yui, she's awesome :) Sounds like a Japanese Avril Lavigne haha.

Already had some Polysics and Melt Banana, like them.

=C0ld c4Th0d3=....don't mind J-Rock recommendations at all :)

Checked out Ayu...trance stuff is pretty good...not a major fan of her individual stuff though.

Found some bands called ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, HIGH AND MIGHTY COLOUR and NUMBER GIRL too...quite like those guys :)

Keep em comin!

High and mighty color, may be enjoyable to you, op.
HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR fail. It's a shame because Maakii (female vocalist/songwriter) is very talented. The band are alright, albeit a little average. But the thing that really lets them down is the muppet who is trying to imitate Fred Durst. He really serves no purpose in the band whatsoever other than to ruin almost every song they produce.

Hey, never said i liked High and Mighty Color, just thought the op might want to try them. I agree about the rapping guy, he's a complete nobber. :p

As for "The Gazette", i can't deny my like for them, not sure what it is i like. Chizuru, is a great song, imo. Anyone interested in J-music should at least listen to that.

Lol, I love them. But to really appreciate them, you have to go see them live - they are...well, amazing. Filth in the Beauty is still my favourite song - mostly 'cause it's the first song of theirs I heard.

Ever since I started watching anime I have been heavily into the music. I don't think it's possible to like one and hate the other.

Since I finished watching Death Note I have been listening to Maximum The Hormone. Which is J-Rock/Metal.

Love Orange Range and definitely going to check out what you people have recommended. Just very hard to get hold of it *Oink* :(
