There's a Winamp JPop channel called JPopsuki which I do enjoy leaving on sometimes. Ayu is good, Morning Musume are faaaaamous but it depends which gen you're talking about.

yeah i watch the jpopsuki tv broadcast too. although i find it often goes out of sync. but a useful tool for finding new music nonetheless.

and Ayu is nothing short of a phenomenon. she's had the most amazing career ever, getting on average an album out each year, sometimes two! and somehow her stuff just keeps getting better and better.

asian kung fu generation - if you class them as pop, they're still good anyway!

yeah they're very good. kind of japanese indie. not really my kind of thing, since i find indie to be a bit bland at the best of times, but AKFG are pretty impressive.

My missus is a huge L'Arc-en-Ciel fan. They toured for the first time ever outside Asia this year, and played at the Zenith in Paris.

They even hired out a number of cinemas in Japan and broadcast the entire concert live to fans back home. Must have cost them a fair packet.

She said it was easily the best concert she has ever been to in her life... and she's been to a fair amount of concerts over the years.

She's now planning on going to their 25th anniversary (I think) concert in 2010.
