Yes, but at this moment in time no.
Nor is there is an untether for any iDevice on 5.0 (or 5.0.1)
as i said, yes there is
It's not a case of testing it, he has to actually make it work first lol by running different code etc... the exploit used in 4.3.3 and 5.0 was closed in 5.0.1 so they need to find a new way of implimenting and executing the code, then test it for bugs like crashing/reboots etc...
I'd expect an untether to be released before Christmas, but maybe not for 5.0.1.
yes 5.0.1 too
The iPhone Devs released a previous jailbreak around Christmas time last year and they typically release jailbreaks on sundays, which they call fun-days
if you use a teathered jail break. and then your phone turns off. what happens. i understand you lose your jailbreak. but does your phone just revert to how it was before ? or do you have to restore it.
Aren't all iOS 5 jailbreaks tethered still?
pod2g released a video running 5.1 untethered, so probably a matter of time now.. hopefully in time for xmas!

Thats 5.0.1 in his tweet, not 5.1 which is currently in beta
Just patiently waiting on the 4S jailbreak..
I really don't get the issue with using the tethered jailbreak. It works perfectly on both 5.0 & 5.0.1 and theres even a tweak called "semi tether" which will allow the phone to boot up if it is switched off. You wont be able to access Cydia or any other JB related data but can still make calls and send/recieve texts until you can get home to boot from RedSn0w.
The whole tethered/untethered thing is a non-issue IMO.
