Hello

I currently have a jailbroken iPhone 3GS on IOS 3.1.3, old I know but it has served me well. I'm now finding an increasing amount of apps though that need IOS 4 and above so I need to upgrade.

I've been trying to research the best way of doing this but have become confused with the amount of applications available, compatibility of firmwares, basebands etc etc...

If possible, I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction of how to upgrade to a newer firmware that can be jailbroken and also be "untethered".

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

cant be discussed here AFAIK

Yes it can. Illegal downloading of apps can't be.

An untethered version of IOS5 is not available at the moment, you can have a tethered version though? If you're not interested in this then I'd advise just waiting..

Thanks, is there any way of upgrading to a newer IOS but not IOS 5. A version of the IOS that will enable an untethered jailbreak?

Am I correct in assuming Redsn0w is the program to use?

Thanks

Yeah, I'd go to 4.3.3 if possible.

Just google 4.3.3 untethered jailbreak and they'll be a few guides on what to do, it's very easy.

And yes redsn0w is one of the common applications to use.
