I first listened to 'Lightning Bolt' quite a while back and was an instant fan.

Reminds me a lot of an early Dylan, with various other artists thrown in for good measure.

Anyway, his first album is out, self titled.

Can not recommend it enough, it's fantastic :)

I saw him support Noel Gallagher last week in Lille, he definatley lives up to the hype, the album is great, also great live.

Ah, heard this before. Had assumed it was someone like Bob Dylan hah!

Didn't realise it was a new kid on the block.

The inital success of Dylan was due to the widespread use of his songs as part of the hippie movements. His music was used to instil fear into the people of authority. Sadly I fear Jake Bugg's rising so far is simply due to him sounding like Dylan. Once he gets his grounding to secure more record deals I have to wonder where he style is going to go. He won't be big if he just continues to do pre-electric Dylan songs as Dylan did those much better.

I should add though that his music is good, which is enough for me.
