Jalapeno's

Fresh or pickled?

I have found that you can get pickled ones all over the place, no sure about fresh ones over here though

Tesco sell them in Jars beside the Nacho and Fajita kits etc. They aren't so nice in vinegar though. I'd love to know where to get them fresh!

My mum always adds some jalapeno pepper to the gaucemole she makes, tastes fantastic... I'll have to find out where she gets them fresh though. Possibly Waitrose.

God my mouth is actually watering now you mentioned them.

Nicest thing ever, i honestly love them to bits.

Cheese, Pepperoni sour cream and Jaleponi baguette, or pizza with it on all over.

Go for the Discovery branded Jalapenos, they're usually with tortilla wraps / salsa and next to the bright yellow Old El Paso stuff, the Old El Paso branded ones aren't very spicy and not that nice I've found. I end up going through a jar a week of them, can't get enough, red or green!

I don't know about ASDA, but Sainsbury's sell small packets of Birds Eye Chilies.

yeah i get these whenever i forget to pick some chili's up from my restaurant but they arent jalapenos, nothing comes close to jalapenos i reckon i could eat a jar on its own with no problem, i could always ask the guys who supply me restaurant with fruit and veg if they do them, but im never their when the delivery comes in and i know the chefs will likely nick quite a few of them before i even see them.

so you guys say its next to the mexican food items? ill check next time or ill tell my dad to have look out for them

Habaneros are where it's at. :)

never heard of these, what do they look like and where could i get them from?

just had a look on wiki, these are the hottest on the planet, i like spicy food, im a sikh, but there is a difference between spicy and just being plain stupid, like all the idiots that come in drunk and say i'd like a vindaloo then never eat it, i like to taste the food not drown the flavour with spicyness, too much hotness can ruin the flavour

If I'm thinking of the right ones, Habaneros are very much like a Scotch Bonnet. Bloody good fun to give to your mates when they're slightly worse for wear! :p

i get them in a jar its the only way they are available on the isle of man.. tescos stock them as do any other big supermarket now

you can get green discovery jalipenos and red ones, the red ones are sweet and not as hot. nice though.

im addicted to the jalipenos subway has , i have never tasted better from anywhere, they key is the vinegar they use, i need to know .

you can get jalipenos in olive oil, but to me they are horrible.

there is a video on you tube of a man eating 11 habaneros whole in the space of 15 mins.

the pub i go to sold them filled with cream cheeze and fried and they were amazing.... they took the off the menue about a year ago :(

however i just found out last week they have them but just not on the menu so i'm happy again and they'll cook them for me by special request!!!
