James Horner RIP

His melodies like Braveheart and My Heart will go on made films stick in people's memory much more than Zimmers do. His only rival for me is John Williams.

To my chagrin I haven't heard of him before....not that I can remember :o

But seeing his work listed above, what a shame, he will be missed! RIP

Heard this on the radio this morning. Very sad news. I have enjoyed his work over the years. Along with Basil Poledouris, John Williams and Hans Zimmer he is up there with my favourite modern composers.

RIP :(

Great composer, will be sadly missed, we had "for the love of a princess" as our exit procession song for our wedding. Such beautiful music

He's one of the most recognisable composers in the Film world... maybe it's because a lot of his themes were re-used, or elements thereof... a lot like John Williams, but it's what made his work extra special. A sad loss. I wonder if he was working on anything that's in production right now.

Yes Jono, He's just scored a film called The 33, about the Chilean mining disaster.
