i am currently with elephant, they seem to be the cheapest for me, but if i get a quote on anything imported the price goes through the roof.

what companies out there are very cheap for insuring a jap import (online quotes would be good too)

thanks

Import what? You're probably better off with specialists like Greenline, A-Plan or Keith Michaels than with mainstream insurers.

jap import. planning on something sporty. soarer, supra, fairlady etc. elephant give me great quotes of uk cars, but as soon as i go for something imported it more than doubles

look at modern classic policies from Lancaster and other companies I got my supra on one. I paid £1100 FC (including mods) and that was for a 21yr old with no ncb and one write off. That was about half of the cheapest quote I could get from anywhere else

that is so strange. when it comes to common and garden cars, elephant is possibly the cheapest for me, apart from when i put a jap import on the policy :(

Elephant and Admiral and BD have always been very cheap for me... a lot more than any other insurer... I put this down to them having a "What kind of license do you have" option with UK Full+PassPlus.

hmmm Admiral wanted an extra £20 for my ST185 when i insured it so yet again it comes down to the insurance companies charging whatever they feel like ;)
