Hi ya Guys,

Wondering if you can help me at all. I love all of the Jap RPG out there, I love there story lines and charactors. I have played the usual ones on the PC, Grandia 1 and 2, FF7, FF8.

But now im after a new one to play, wondering if anyone new of any game for the pc that is the same style as most of the Jap RPG’s out there?

Thanks.

Not many, i just have grandia 2 on pc, and i recently got ffx and using a emulator for it and it runs good on my spec so thats a nice game so far.

I hear breath of fire or somit like that is a jrpg to try and some of the Y series games i think are on pc. Also have a look for a topic by me on this subject as i made one a few months back and ppl recommended some games in there that you might want.

Like back in SkeeterPSA's thread, your not really going to find a lot of JRPGs for the PC besides the old ones that you listed.

The only one recently that has some exposure is The Last Remnant, which is already out for the Xbox 360, but will be coming for PC sometime in Spring.

These games are more available and suited for consoles and so its a very niche market on the PC.

If The Last Remnant does well on PC, then maybe there could be a slightly chance of that happening, though I really cannot see that.

I'm not in the habit of buying consoles for a single game, I've put enough cash into my pc to not have to bother for the most part.

JAP RPGS fail flat on there face.

Because of that reason, there is hardly any that come to the western world.

The FF series has been the most consistently enjoyable gaming franchise for me (apart from XII)

Cant understand why tbh.

Kid that looks like a girl = Check
Big ass sword with either a gun or some kind of twisted thing with it = Check
Story line involving a massive corporation taking over the world = Check
Cheesy love story involving the person you love dying = Check

Sounds to me like the FF series follow exactly the same path all the time.

Stopped playing FF after FF7 and that was when i was 14

I could argue the same point about the repetitive nature, yet unrelenting appeal of FPS to some people.

After playing from the original Wolf 3D up until Crysis, I have decided that I just don't enjoy those type of games any more, in fact, I only played through Crysis to see the graphics.

I much prefer RPGs (JAP and non-JAP) and turn-based strategy games now, people have different tastes.

I'm on my second play through FFX as well.

Slient generic buffed up marine = Check
Guns, guns, bombs, explosions and more BFGs = Check
Storyline involving Russians, Germans, North Koreans, Terrorists or Extraterrestrials taking over the world = Check
Cheesy machoism story involving one man going Rambo and saving the world = Check

Sounds to me like FPS follow the exact same path all the time. :D

So yeah, different genres, different appeals, different cultures. I myself will take a JRPG anyday.

I think that might be why, despite it's many flaws, I am enjoying Mirrors Edge.

yes i do believe that ffx111 is coming to the pc and xbox 360 too which will upset some ps3 owners as its no longer exclusive.
