Actual Java, or JavaScript? What website? What versions of Firefox and Java?

Chrome should use the same plugin as Firefox, so any issue should be fairly common to both. Have you checked the plugin's enabled (Tools -> Addons -> Plugins)?

Well the problem first showed when running iplayer. The window said to make sure javascript was ticked which it was. Then i went and got the latest java download but no luck.

I checked the addons part and all are enabled.

So it isn't Java at all. iPlayer doesn't use Java but rather Flash and JavaScript.

Does YouTube or something like that work?

Yes Youtube works perfectly. So is there another solution to this e.g. flash install?

Just reinstalled flash and hasnt solved the problem, guess its javascript that's the problem
