I've made a bit of a mistke with my Java, the entire Java folder got deleted, but without the uninstaller having been run. If I now try to reinstall Java, it says that it's already installed, and then fails to install, even though I've cleaned the registry with Ccleaner and rebooted several times. I can't run the uninstaller. Any ideas?

Have you deleted the Java plugins for the browsers you've got installed? The Java installer might be detecting those?
Either that or there's a file or registry entry you've missed. Or try http://www.java.com/en/download/help/uninstall_java.xml. That says something about MSIs. You could have an MSI installer hanging around.

Google for a list of Java files and check you really have deleted them all?
