Javascript blocking websites?

I think Javascript is stopping me from accessing some websites like youtube.

In Firefox and Opera if JavaScript is enabled the websites try to load, but nothing happens just a endless loading bar with nothing to show.

If I disable JavaScript in either browser, the bad sites load instantly.

So it seems like that might be the problem. Is there a way to fix that, do i need to reinstall java or something?

EDIT: java reinstall/update did not fix it

JavaScript and Java are two completely different things (apart from the obvious similarity of name) so a Java reinstall wouldn't have fixed it.

When you enabe JavaScript in a browser it's using it's own internal code for that browser and it shouldn't be affecting anything else. All I can suggest is clearing out your cache etc and then try to reinstall Firefox and Opera to see if that sorts it.
