So the only solution without lag is source--->AVR--->TV?

Oh dear you're going to have to keep the AVR and speaker, and sub, damn what a shame.

Or you could get a soundbar (her money , not yours) and when there is lag, say "well I told you it would have lag, I've moved AVR into my room, now you're going to have to live with it" then go into smug mode, walk into your man cave with your in sync sound system haha.

I don't use E-ARC myself, I plug each source into the AV pre amp. I had issues with E-ARC, wasn't passing all codecs properly, issues locking on etc.

I'm guessing you don't have a GF/wife (or at least don't speak to her like that in reality) :cry:
 
I use earc for streaming from TV apps (so likely not lossless), but I've not noticed sync issues. Isn't part of one of the standards to auto sync anyway? (Or are there limits?)
