Jedec approved DDR5 6400 a few months back - when will we see 1.1v DDR5 6400 on sale?

I'd have thought awhile, because 6400 sticks are currently around 1.4v and even with the slower timings, that seems like a big ask for them to run stable @ 1.1v. XMP/EXPO also increases secondary voltages to the CPU/memory controller and JEDEC sticks don't normally do that.

At a guess, I'd say that they won't be mainstream until AMD raises their memory spec from 5200 and Intel from 5600, so perhaps after their new architectures are released.

Is that JDEC rated or is that XMP/EXPO?

OP wants JDEC speeds at 1.1v.

OP, you’re going to struggle to find JDEC speeds that high at 1.1v.
YES it is:

They appear to be listed as compatible with Z790 refresh, so I wonder if only the newer Z790 boards have the profiles available to configure these correctly, though 6000 says compatible with 600 and 700 series and I thought they had 5600 as the max speed when these were released.

Might be enabled with a new BIOS?

I’m not entirely sure.

The latency is high but there’s no reason why you couldn’t manually reduce the timings.

DDR5 and the chipset revisions are all too new for my liking at the moment.

The RAM will probably default to 4800 for both AMD and Intel. It's unlikely that AMD/Intel will add any profiles for current hardware.

thank you all for the discussion, interesting back and forth which i think answers my question.

sorry for the late response, for some reason i didn't get any notifications.
