Just.. crazy. I knew he had surpassed Gates with around $94 billion just a few months ago, but $124.3 billion!

Even the google twins, last time I looked they were paupers with about $35 billion each, but look at them now with $50 billion.

"On July 27, 2017, he became the world's wealthiest person when he accumulated an estimated net worth of just over $90 billion according to Forbes Magazine. His net worth surpassed $100 billion for the first time on November 24, 2017, after Amazon's share price increased by more than 2.5%. As of March 5, 2018, he has a net worth of $124.3 billion, and is contended to be on track to become the wealthiest person in contemporary history."

He doesn't actually have that much money, it's all stocks so it could be more, or less.

After a certain point, there isn't much you can't buy and it's nothing more than a how big your willy game and I am sure Bezos don't care. He doesn't seem like the type who pay much attention to this kind of thing.

Would he still be top if Gates hadn’t given so much of his money away?

'Bezos is not truly the wealthiest person ever, despite numerous reports to the contrary. As just one example, on an inflation-adjusted basis, Bill Gates has previously been worth far more. In April 1999, for instance, Gates’ net worth eclipsed $100 billion as Microsoft shares topped out at the apex of the dot-com bubble. That fortune would be worth roughly $150 billion in today’s dollars. Gates, who is now worth an estimated $92 billion, would also be far richer if he had not given about $36 billion of Microsoft stock to charity over time,'

Here's an interesting thing I just read, "Thanks to his tin ear, Bezos lost untold billions to Apple's Steve Jobs. Jobs was a music lover (and dated Joan Baez). Bezos, who let Jobs hire away his music editor Keith Moerer, has "a lack of interest in music of any kind." As a teen, Bezos memorized the call letters of local radio stations so he could fake being hip to the music scene. But he was so unhip he let Jobs seize the lead in creating the iPod. "We were freaking out over what the iPod had done to Amazon's music business," ex-Amazon exec John Doerr told Stone. So Bezos invented the Kindle to prevent Apple (or others) from stealing the digital-book future."

Who is we? What do you spend a grand a year on at google? How do you spend 20k a year on amazon?

My previous company probably spent around this with Amazon per year, the whole platform was moved over to AWS (both production and non-prod) so it's quite easy for the costs to stack up. I think our non-prod environments were costing around £1k per month and production was much bigger so it makes sense.

Or he could be philanthropist but not show off about it, as i think as it should be
He might be now, but you don't get rich by being a nice guy typically, since you're skimming money from somewhere. In his case, the workers who are paid peanuts but have to do long hours.

There is obviously a gulf of different in his confidence between those two pictures. But it also shows just how much better a balding man looks if he just shaves it off or clips it close. It's a great picture of how you can improve yourself as you get older.

Also bulked up by the looks of it.
