Jeff Bezos

Imagine that feeling when you're one of his children and you come to the age of understanding money, the only thing his boys have to worry about is when to get a hair transplant.

My previous company probably spent around this with Amazon per year, the whole platform was moved over to AWS (both production and non-prod) so it's quite easy for the costs to stack up. I think our non-prod environments were costing around £1k per month and production was much bigger so it makes sense.

We have similar costs, 1-2 K for Google, and at least 20-30K to Amazon AWS and support.

Bill and Melinda Gates have been very clear on how their children will probably not struggle too much but will not have hair transplants at the top of their Things To Do list.

It's a good thing Bill doesn't have trash tier hair genetics then isn't it, and looks like his son is doing just fine:

Not long before amazon becomes the highest valued company. Everything they touch works.

They'll buy Netflix next

Between his Blue Origin and Elon Musk's SpaceX the private space industry is looking interesting these days. Would rather that than than the hoarding kind of billionaire.

Yawn another richest man in the graveyard.

I dunno, with the amount of assets he's got perhaps he'll be the first human to cheat death - transplant his consciousness somewhere or regenerate his ageing body via some newly invented stem cell treatments etc...

first company that manages to achieve some progress towards that sort of goal (if done in the near future) would be a prime target for takeover by the likes of Google, Facebook, amazon etc.. and no doubt their ageing founders would be keen to make use of such advances themselves.

Jeff Bezos Becomes the Richest Man in Modern History, Topping $150 Billion
Jeff Bezos is the richest person in modern history. The Amazon.com Inc. founder’s net worth cracked $150 billion in New York on Monday, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. That’s about $55 billion more than Microsoft Corp. co-founder Bill Gates, the world’s second-richest person.

Bezos, 54, also has topped Gates in inflation-adjusted terms. The $100 billion mark that Gates hit briefly in 1999 at the height of the dot-com boom would be worth about $149 billion in today’s dollars. That makes the Amazon chief executive officer richer than anyone else on earth since at least 1982, when Forbes published its inaugural wealth ranking.
