Jeremy Clarkson - Books..

My favourite Clarkson books are Born to be Riled and The World According to Clarkson.

Clarkson is ok, but his columns do grate after a while reading through those compilation books.

He's a good motoring journo, but not a great writer imo.

i've got most of Clarksons books, the world according to..., born to be riled, Clarkson on cars, i know you got soul and Don't stop me now, they are the sort of book you don't have to get stuck into, infact, they are great for (excuse the forwardness) reading a chapter on the toilet :D

Also have both of Ramsays books of which i've read neither yet, though he is a great idol of mine. I read Chris Moyles' first book in one sitting, i must have been bored or something, i got his second for Xmas - not looked at it yet.

Close the the end of Hammonds book it is a really good read. :) id recomend it. About half way through "dont stop me now" by Clarkson its ok. But i prefered motorworld. Ill probs go out and buy one of two of his other books..

Does anyone know if James May has a book? or is writing a book? :)

If James May does write a book, i wonder if he'll call it 'Oh ****' :D

I've just finished reading Richard Hammonds book. It's absolutely brilliant.

I got Motorworld and On Cars for Christmas.

After this thread cropped up, I may be more inclicned to read Motorworld now. ;)

Grr been trying to get to sleep for about 2 hrs now but after tossing & turning decided to do more forum'ing :p

Might try reading my 2 new books, but is clarkson "read yourself to sleep" material or "giggle yourself till dawn" material :o

I'd quite to read Richard Hammond's book, have to try and get a copy.

It's very interesting. While the prose is quite flowery and overly descriptive at times (I gazed upon the bright green of the grass in the fields and felt at one with the power of the sun beating down upon my upturned face, each blade of grass visible, waving gently in the cool morning air which blew like the breath of an angel over my body, its heaven sent force bending the grass to its unearthly will.... sort of stuff* ;)) the actual information is very interesting.

I had an "event" a few years ago which left me suffering from anxiety (panic) attacks, and some of his experiences have cast a new light upon the way my mind has been working over the last couple of years. I feel an empathy for him as, during his recovery period, especially towards the end of the book, he is going through a similar experience that I had with unexplained anxiety and the issues it brings.

The brain is a funny old thing! :D

* Not an excerpt, just an exaggerated imitation of the way he gets caught up in the descriptive at times!)
