not going to link to the video as it is easy to find but it's a video filmed a couple of years ago in which he mumble's ''eenie meenie minie moh....'' and it is quite easy to hear how it could be construed that he uses the archaic version

so now, a couple of newspapers have started what may be viewed as a witch hunt with the intention imo of putting him out of a job. madness. he's worth the licence fee alone.

he has gone as far as to release a video statement in response.

It's a complete non-story. A witch hunt being hyped to extremes by the Mirror. The Mirrors own poll is amusing. Do you want Clarkson sacked? No's were at 77% iirc :D

It wasn't "catch a tigger"? From winnie the pooh? There dies a part of my childhood :(

Clarkson is better than the Mirror. Long live Clarkson.

I thought their 'racist joke' in the Thailand episode was quite funny:

At the completion of the task Clarkson said "that is a proud moment, but there's a slope on it", just as an Asian man can be seen walking towards him on the bridge.

Hammond replied: "You're right, it's definitely higher on that side."

This story is even more ridiculous - deliberately mumbling the nasty bit of a out of date and un-pc nursery rhyme... well its not surprising that in one of the few takes they did the mumbles might resemble the word being obscured - it doesn't require voice experts employed by the mirror newspaper to tell you that and they didn't broadcast it for that reason... such a non story. People getting butt-hurt over such non-incidents concerning race just serve to dilute any legitimate outrage when real racist incidents occur.

Britton loves Clarkson. This will all blow over. We all know he's daft and controversial but he's not a racist. This is just media BS to sell papers.

whose britton?

Clarkson, this isnt the first time, although top gear is OK its getting old now, so maybe a change is due anyway. He also hangs out with the prime minister which automatically makes him a **** in my book

Slope Joke and now the N word, yep probably has bernard manning videos at home

Total non-story.

Slightly off track but the guardian article says racism is illegal, I know inciting racial hatred is illegal as is discriminating based on race for say employment but I was not aware it was illegal to commit thought crime in Britain now!?

Is the N word punishable if you just say it? If used in a racist term then fair enough, you should be punished severely.

He was practising takes, mumbled the N word and then didn't use it for the real take. Completed non issue which has been stirred up by the media and someone who has a vendetta against the guy i.e. the individual(s) who released the film. Similar set up to the Richard Keys/Andy Gray scenario.

I've seen the episode where he made this 'racist' joke...all I seen was a slope in the bridge. neither me nor my friends were aware it was a racist term. Either way its a non-story for anyone who isnt a PC moron.
