I don't know what's got me more miffed. Your complete ignorance regarding racism, or your complete ignorance regarding "Et cetera."

It is abbreviated as "etc." and not "ect."

N and P I can understand, but even P maybe not? What's bad about it if not being used in a derogatory way?

You need to get laid or get out more. He's not ignorant of racism he's just saying that people use terms innocently, which the professional offense brigade immediately jump on and say 'Hey Racist !' Is a black man calling his mate the 'N' word when he greets him a racist too ? Also who cares that he typed 'ect.' instead of 'etc.. ?

Seriously, quit the I'm superior attitude complex and grow up.

Because Pakistani, not ****, is the descriptive word. **** is derogatory and only ever has been. It cannot be used without being offensive. You might as well just call someone a see-you-next-Tuesday. It's also used to rudely describe people from all nations of South Asia. You think the English like to be described as Scottish or vice versa?

As is Nigerian and not ****** (e: obviously that's the N-word), Japanese and not Jap, etc.

It's also an utterly weak excuse to claim N-word is a description for those from Nigeria because it is complete and utter codswallop as well. It is derived from "Negro" which is Spanish/Portugese for Black.

It's a bit difficult to not feel superior to bigots. Nevermind that it's just a quip.

Also, would you care to practice what you preach? You routinely demonstrate that you get very riled on these forums.

Scotland might not be the best example, as someone from Scotland is often referred to as a Scot. Pakistan meaning land of the pure, stan meaning land, referring to them as a **** would follow the same logic. So best to leave Scot and Scotland out of it.

wazza300 isn't serious right? Has to be a joke post.

Clarkson is a muppet, yes. A racist? Nope. It does no justice to call an incident like this 'racism' when there was no malice behind it.

Regarding the term ****, the reason it has demeaning connotations is due to the blanket nature it was used when referring to both Indians and Pakistanis in a derogatory way during the influx in the 60's.

Kids these days are ignorant to that fact and thus think it is no issue, where as those who grew up with the term thrown in their faces at any opportunity occasionally followed by violence still feel it is malicious racism.

Now if you think how many years any black person has had the term ****** thrown at them in a derogatory manner you can empathise with their emotions towards the word.

You are free to say what you want, however a bit of understanding and respect to those who may take offence at those terms should be given.

Claptrap. It's a perfect analogy. It is just as inaccurate to describe an Indian as a Pakistani as it is a Scot as English.

Speaking just for myself, I didn't even get the joke. I never knew the term "slope" even referred to asian people, let alone that it was derogatory. I can quite believe their plea of ignorance in this case.

I only know about it because it's what John Kreese called Mr Miyagi in Karate Kid, and nobody complains when that PG rated film is shown before the watershed. Country's getting too PC.

It's actually the Latin (Roman) word for black (just with an additional g).
