Jesus is alive! Happy Easter

the OP could have just written happy easter rather than mention anything to do with jesus and quoting from the bible? Its ok to push religion onto others yet its not ok to have the stance of not believing something made up hundreds of years after the alleged lead characters in the 'greatest story ever told' supposedly lived? Gotta love religion......

Couldn't put it any better myself. Well done:)

What the fudge does Jesus have to do with chocolate eggs and easter bunnies?

I agree.

You're now turning into a complete and incessant relgion troll with no tolerance for other peoples opinions, and my time on the forum has taught me that they almost inevitably end up going out of control and then banned. I look forward to it.

He could have done but for him it is a religious holiday so just for once can't we as a collective be accepting that others don't believe the same things and let them post without remonstrating with them. If you don't like religion then there's dozens of other threads that you can choose to express your distaste in.

Can I take that to mean you (and others moaning about not getting respect) will never ridicule anyone in GD for believing in lizard men, the Aluminati and the Easter bunny?

Happy Easter :)

Have you seen me ridicule anyone on OcUK about their beliefs or indeed about any subject?

But that's not really the point here as it's not about what I do or do not post - what I'm suggesting is that occasionally, just occasionally, people could let it slide and not post about how religion is terrible, ficticious or whatever. Just maybe let people note that they're celebrating a religious observance that is important to them without immediately jumping down their throat.

There's been dozens of threads on religion over the past month or two which have been started with the express intention of debating the merits of religion - it strikes me that they would be a more appropriate place to debate.

I don't actually have an ignore list. I have a mental ignore list. Bhavv is on it. When I see his name I know that the words contained within the post are going to be nothing but reactionary, hivemindless garbage. So I just skip over them.

He was simply wishing people Happy Easter from his perspective, nothing more. It is not pushing anything.

The only pushing of beliefs going on here is from the boorish anti-religion lobby.

As Semi-Pro states this is not the place for it, go post your irreverence in the threads that deal with religious criticism and stop trolling one that is simply wishing people Happy Easter.

Gotta love Ignorance....

The post suggesting the OP could have simply said 'Happy Easter' and left out Jesus made me lol. Easter is a Christian observance, why on earth should he leave out Jesus? More to the point, WHY would he? Get a grip and stop derailing a simple non-inflammatory thread.

I know. Amazingly ignorant.

WHY TALK ABOUT JESUS AT CHRISTMAS I JUST WANT PREZENTS AND TERKEY

Knew this would turn into a religion bashing thread :(

As for the person who posted that without religion there would be no hitler? LOL SERIOUSLY, JUST LOL. Hitler hated religion because it was one thing he couldn't turn to his own ends, so he tried to create his own one. Get your damn facts straight please.

Happy Easter all, don't eat too much choccy, I know I will! :)

lol all this talk of jesus and hitler made me think of this:

:p

No chocolate for me today, but I might make a rhubarb crumble. Happy munchings for today.

Predictible thread outcome.

Anyway, happy Easter to all. Ignore the haters and actually have a think about what it means.:)

A new low for OcUK I feel.

It's getting pathetic lately. The sad irony is that most of it seems to stem from bored 15 year olds who know virtually nothing of the subject against which they just love to roll with the bandwagon.

I know us nerds/geeks tend to be low on social skills as a whole (stereotype much? :D) but this type of behaviour takes the cake.

OP, once again Happy Easter to you. Will you be attending any special service at church, or do you have any other plans? In fact don't answer that, it'll only add ammo to the trolls, but enjoy your day at any rate. :)

Yeah it's becoming an increasingly common theme on here now, stupid trolling/retarded posts with random and bizarre moderation to boot (guess I'll get suspended for posting that).

I've just opened an Easter egg to try to restore some balance in here.

Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!
Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!
Who did once upon the cross, Alleluia!
Suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia!

Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia!
Unto Christ, our heavenly King, Alleluia!
Who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia!
Sinners to redeem and save. Alleluia!

But the pains which he endured, Alleluia!
Our salvation have procured, Alleluia!
Now above the sky he's King, Alleluia!
Where the angels ever sing. Alleluia!

It's a Christian holiday. If you don't like it, go back to work tomorrow.
