Jetski's

I'm Buying a Jetski this week. Just a cheap one from a friend of a friend.
Its a Seadoo GTX 750 think its a 96-97.

Has anyone got one? I know its had a few hundred quid spent on it before it was put away for the winter and has a trailer with it but dont know a great deal else.

Any tips? Are 2 strokes temperamental? What oil do I have to use? whats the mix?
I live on the Docks in Liverpool does anyone else know of good places to use them around here?

I am just thinking of taking it on the Mersey at the weekend.

Any info appreciated as you can probably tell I havent really thought this through but whats the worst that could happen?

Remember to flush the motor after use unless you going to keep it in the water during the summer. You will be surprise how much pertrol it will use, especially when having fun.

lol at taking it on the Mersey. Is this common? I've never seen Jetski's on the Mersey but good luck! watch out for the sand banks further upstream, I dont want to see you face plant into one. haha

Never seen anyone on a jetski on the Mersey. I live very close to the river too! I'd imagine more people use them up at West Kirby (not in the lake obviously) really.

There are people on the Mersey on Jetski's nearly every Sunday when I look out of my Window.

They launch at New Brighton. I live on the Liverpool side at the Albert dock and they wont let me launch over here!

Ahhh, I don't think I can see that far down the river. I am more or less opposite Otterspool Drive (dock end). One of my friends has a few boats and when I've been out on them I've never come across anyone on a jetski.
