Jimi Hendrix - 'He wasn't that special'

I have also seen interviews of Page and Clapton talking about the first time they saw him play live. They both admitted to being totally gobsmacked and both went off for some serious practise after.

Its quite funny but since I started this thread I play a lot of Planet Rock at work and when Hendrix comes on I shout to the guy in the OP and he just shouts back "He wasn't that special". He obviously knows about this thread I started about him.

Planet Rock has lots of guests on and virtually every one of them irrespective of what musical style, always play an Hendrix tune. He really was special to all the greats. Only this week Scott Gorham was telling a tale about him.

Did you know that the only way Chas Chandler got Hendrix to come to England was if he could arrange for Jimi to play with Clapton? Jimi held Clapton in awe but Clapton doesn't know why.
