Jimmy Savile - Sexual Predator

i was only referring to you, no one else.

Funny, because non rape apologists are posting this.

Well said, some people in this thread need to take a hard long look at themselves in the mirror imo !

About what I say. Maybe you are one of the people he is talking about and what I am saying offends you because you are a potential rapist? Maybe you are the kind of guy who would have sex with a girl who was too drunk to consent and thinks that's how people get laid, and me pointing out that its rape is making you feel uncomfortable, or maybe you just support that kind of behaviour because you may be a rape apologist, so you are telling me to shut up.

Or do you have a counter argument to what I'm saying?

Are you ok? You seem to be a very angry individual. Have you been directly affected by the topic(s) in this thread? If so perhaps you might find it more beneficial to your state of mind by seeking medical/professional attention.

This is not a joke post. I'm actually serious.

Thank you for your concern, but I do not understand how rape and our rape culture doesn't make you angry? To read the rape apologists in this thread posts is truly a sickening indictment of our male dominated disgusting society.

I have never been raped despite being from a fairly high risk rape back ground.

lol, so now i am a rape apologist?!?! and Porceliamone?!?!

you are insane hurfdurf.

LOL at "we live in a rape society".

I'm sorry but having sex with someone who is drunk and then deciding she didn't actually want to when she wakes up with a hangover in the morning is not rape. What the hell is wrong with everyone?

It is obvious that rape is despicable. And it is also clear that the fact the girls that Jimmy Paedo did whatever he did to them were under age means it is child abuse or whatever you want to call it. Whether they consent or not doesn't matter, they are at a vulnerable age and could probably be talked into doing pretty much anything.

I think society as a whole was a lot different back then, these kinds of things were overlooked in many walks of life. That doesn't make it right, but it does explain why it is only coming out now.

I don't understand what all the debate is about.

I read C.R.A.Z.Y. as agreeing with you, although I must admit you're probably more used to people disagreeing! :p

I don't understand what all the debate is about.

Aww come on, don't throw a reasonable response in there! The poor guy won't be able to retort on his hilarious rant if you do that.

You are actually saying someone is a potential rapist?

I think you have actually gone a bit mad here. I actually agreed with you on some points earlier but saying stuff like that just makes you seem like an idiot to be honest.

1 in 10 men will admit to being a rapist if you do not use the word rape when asking the question, this forum is filled with idiotic man children who make excuses for rapists so I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if he was a rapist. Not the dark alley violent rape mind, but then, that's a very uncommon kind of rape.

Hurf is brilliant.

Did you guys hear? George Clooney and Brad Pitt have agreed to make a film based on Jimmy Savile's life, it's going to be called 'Oh, she's eleven'.

"1 in 10 men will admit to being a rapist if you do not use the word rape when asking the question"

I don't quite understand exactly what you're saying here, are you saying that if you asked 10 men if they gently touched someone while whispering sweet nothing sin their ear, they'd admit to it?

Where has this figure been pulled out of?

Make excuses for rapists? I don't think anyone has made any excuses for rapists.

Not the dark alley violent rape mind, but then, that's a very uncommon kind of rape.

Oh I see, so you would call that legitimate rape? So banging some drunk chick is what? Soft rape?

I don't think there are many men who have not had sex with a drunk girl, does that mean we are all rapists?

Do you go on Mumsnet much?

Great logic there, totally sound...yea you have lost it.

If a survey asks men, for example, if they ever “had sexual intercourse with somone, even though they did not want to, because they were too intoxicated (on alcohol or drugs) to resist your sexual advances,” some of them will say yes, as long as the questions don’t use the “Rape” word.

Please tell me where I ever said anything about legitimate or soft rape? I have come down on other people before for doing exactly that. There are different kinds of rape, none of them less severe or potentially damaging than the other.

People have made apologies for rapists in this thread

"oh it was a different generation"

"Oh but the 15 year old was asking for it"

"Oh but what clothes was she wearing?"

"Ah but she did let him kiss her so what did she think was going to happen!"

are all things that have come up time and time on this board.

How did you come to that conclusion from the single paragraph he posted  He specifically said what action took place and I don't think he said 'raped'.

Did I say I was doing a direct comparison some where?

I was using an inflated and more extreme version of events to demonstrate, that when some people are attacked, be it verbally, sexually assaulted, or raped, the first reaction by some victims is not to tell people, but to instead hide away and pretend it never happened, and many other responses.

This is for a multitude of reasons, from being too ashamed to knowing that no one would believe them and instead they would be told it was their own fault for getting raped or assaulted, which is a large part of our rape culture.

Bare in mind you said

How can this ever go anywhere though? He's dead so he can hardly be arrested and charged?

At the start of the thread... I don't really think you are now in a position to comment on anything rape related until you get some serious learning in.

Start with

and go from there.

You are not dumb, and are a good guy, just extremely privileged so I do not blame you for not understanding rape. Educate yourself.
