Jitter Bug

I am having a small problem with YouTube. There seems to be some kind of jitter on the videos or buffering as it’s called.

I have checked the connection and all seems fine, and everything else is working as it should.

Anyone got any ideas?

Isn't jitter the "in" word for latency and/or packetloss?

jitter is the difference between the average latency and whatever.

Probably used here mostly by whiny VM customers like myself.

Basically yeah, it's the difference between highest and lowest pings.

Jitter is merely the variance in measuring successive ping tests. Zero jitter means the results were exactly the same every time, and anything above zero is the amount by which they varied. Like the other quality measurements, a lower jitter value is better. And while some jitter should be expected over the Internet, having it be a small fraction of the ping result is ideal.
