So you all are mostly intelligent folk who know how to do things properly, right?

I've just had the best job application land on my desk, ever!

All it was is a hand written (and quite badly) letter wrote on one side of A5 notepad paper (the pad with the white rings at the top). That's it. This is from a 23 year old expecting us to give her a job.

It's not exactly difficult applying for a job. Everyone should have a well written CV which has had information added to over the years stored in a safe place, should you ever need it. This should be sent to a future employer wish it looking as professional as possible along with an accompanying cover letter.

Haha... here's another thing from another CV. In a personal statement...

"I would definatley go the extra mile, infact I would walk ten thousand miles" !!

Seriously....

File under T for Trash, or if you want to be civil, reply to her pointing out the faults in her CV.

KaHn

At least be fair, reply and tell her why it sucks.

Although I'm a big fan of not having to write well thought out job applications. If I see a job description that I know I can do I'll apply for it, and list my qualifications for the job. If you want to know about my personality then find out in the interview.

You might find that such a bad application is from someone claiming benefits who has to apply for vacancies and attend any interviews offered or lose their benefits but who doesn't really want a job.

Such a bad application would count but be unlikely to result in the hassle of an interview.

Wow, the scroungers are getting clever!

get a big red marker and highlight all her mistakes and draw a sad face on it and send it back to her!!

That's very tempting!!

Lol, reminds me of that bit in Trainspotting when he goes to the interview wasted! :D

It is ironic that your post has so many mistakes: I won't try to be a smart arse and point every one out as I do appreciate the difference between a job application and posting here but ....... 'written' not 'wrote' and wtf does 'All it was is' mean? (yes, I do know but it is not English)

I understand the gist of the post and I am just pointing out that if you are going to take the pee out of someone for writing badly, maybe you should proof read your own stuff before posting. ;)

Give her the job, that'd really annoy her! :D

If this was a thread about grammar, spelling etc, I'd agree with you. But writing it on A5 notepaper? Seriously?
