Job Interview. advice please

So the Interview is tomorrow. Hopefully at the end of the day tomorrow i will have a new life changing job.
if not its back to the slog @ the shop till i kill myself with a broken screen removed from a child's iPad mini.

Firm hand shake, eye contact when talking, use your hands when your talking (shows confidence), smile and look happy. Like the others have said its mainly about how you will get on with the team. Talk about how good the school is and you would love the chance to work with them, this is a massive opportunity etc etc. Basically you need to show that you know about the school and how amazing repuatation they have and you would love the chance to be a part of their success. good luck

I was an ICT Technician in a school for quite a few years.

Is this a secondary or primary school?

A lot of good advice has already been given.

What I will say is they will look at how well you are able to support a class, try and be proactive during this 30min support session. They will want to see if you are able to effectively communicate with students and engage with them. If you see a student struggling with something don't be afraid to help them.

Speak to the teacher also about what they are doing in today's lesson, perhaps ask what the lesson objective is. The person that's with you and over seeing you is likely to be impressed that you're taking an interest in what the students are trying to achieve.

Relax and stay calm.

Try and remember that if you have good technical knowledge it will mean nothing to them if you aren't approachable to the students.

Craig,

I have a question for you - I'm responsible for a lot of our IT in the work place, but because I came into the role from another role, I don't actually have the paper quals!

I'm doing a CISSP, CISM and CISA later this year/early next year, but I've got the opportunity to do the Comptia Network and Comptia Security for free through work.

I know these are the basics, but are they worth doing? Like I say, it's free and a few weeks out of the office!

You're not doing the CISSP... if you're doing the CISSP there is no way you would even consider the comptia stuff. I know a few CISSPs and it's solid.

Take any free training course you can get! Yes the qualifications are basic but it's paper in the bag and a few weeks away from the day to day. When you find yourself at a company that doesn't do training you will regret not taking advantage while you could.

OK interview has been done.

Now awaiting news on weather or not i will be picked. Only one other guy turned up.
He was quite quiet, where as i tried to talk to as many people as i could and ask what IT issues flag up the most..
Hopefully they feel i am the better candidate, The other one works in a shop doing PC repairs so hopefully they can see i am the better choice :P

Was told i would be informed today 100% whether or not i got the job...
Is it still too early? or is it a second set of employers who say one thing and don't follow through lol

Gold Tracksuit & a big cigar should make you stand out from the other two.
