Job Interview. advice please

Way to derail this thread.
I didn't hear anything from them even though they said they would inform me today.
Going to presume I didn't get it and the hired the middle aged aged Asian chap instead.
Oh well. Onwards and upwards

and the reason you felt the need to mention the other guys race? its almost as if you are trying to imply something?!

Sorry to hear that you didn't hear back as to whether you got the job or not mate, I know how you feel. The same has happened to me more than once as well, both of the job interviews that I attended went rather smoothly - I was fed with the "We're looking to get the ball rolling really quickly and therefore we want the right person to start next week, you're up against someone else who we are interviewing tomorrow morning and we will definitely let you know by the end of tomorrow, even if we turn you down"

Next day - absolutely nothing. With one of them positions I even chased them up a couple of days later and the lady at their HR department said that they were still conducting interviews apparently and that I was on the list for them to call back when they had done, another 2 days later - still nothing.

These cretins really know how to get your hopes up by feeding you with false information and lies - it really ***** me off. From personal experience now, if one gets the job then the employer usually rings them up within 2-3 hours after conducting the interview. A temp job that I had last year which was for a massive firm literally told me that I got the job within half an hour via phone after finishing the interview. Maybe though for you OP, because it was a Friday they may of discussed amongst themselves who to offer the job to and they have decided to wait until Monday to notify the lucky person. So if you don't hear anything back by Monday, then I would take it as a no.

It's funny your name is Liam. The guy who just left was called Liam. Lol
If I don't hear anything by around 1pm.monday after I leave hospital I will call them and ask. If they say it's not mine I will have words and explain it's not on telling someone one thing and doing something else.

Called them today for some news, was informed that they cant get a hold of the people who know the outcome...
The PA said that we should have been informed by email on Friday, she also doesn't know the outcome but will chase it for me.
When i asked to speak to one of the interviewers, i was put on hold and then told that for any feedback about the interview i would need to discuss it with the other person who was there (who is unavailable)....

So.. Very unorganized, No communication between staff and a failed attempt to keep their word.

Hmm, Do i actually want to work there? well yes as its better than this damn shop!

ARGH

I think your impatient.

Yes they said they would let you know Friday but there maybe many reasons why they did not.

These things generally involve many departments and can be even worse for comms if a recruitment agent is involved.

Generally if i give someone the job they know very quickly (same day or early the following working day) unless I have other interviews on a different day.

Getting shirty on the phone with a potential employer is not a good move. Never burn your bridges.

Well yes i am slightly impatient, But i did ask a couple of times and was assured i would be informed on Friday, And now they don't know and cant get a hold of the person who does? Its a largish school but when i was there i saw how easy it would be to contact other staff members when they are in fact in the same building.. :/
Also i was nothing but polite on the phone :D
