Job Interview Difficult questions

You said never admit to weaknesses. I said you should admit to weaknesses - recognising weaknesses is a good quality.

I disagree - you never admit to weakness but you recognise a potential weakness and work on it.

I assume the interviewer has been watching Lost :p

I was asked that question back in 1974 at my first job interview but I didn't have an answer then.

depends what the job is, but when they ask about weaknesses, they can't realy expect the person to say negative traits that they have, people always say something that is not exactly a weakness. my weakness is that when working in a team i can get annoyed when not everyone is pulling their weight and it can affect my work because i end up working less than i could because i only want to do my fair share and not get taking for ride by my team. cause people will let you do all the work and in some cases i have been hired to do all the work while the perm staff just sit their all day moaning at me for not working enough.

i hate those questions myself.

leadership one is easy you can rattle some **** off about taking responsibilty and following problems all the way through to the end. depends what the job/field of work is. delicate and organise blah blah

If you mention a weakness you should follow it up and turn it in to a positive.

E.g. I used to have a problem scheduling and prioritising, but since completing university I have learned how to effectively manage my time and feel it's one of my stronger traits now.

That way you can show willingness to develop without actually saying you are crap at something which can be turned against you.
